Once Touched (Silver Creek #3) by Laura Moore

Once Touched (Silver Creek, #3)Once Touched by Laura Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well, I was right. Laura Moore is a winner for me. I loved her when I read the previous book in this series, and I love her even more now. This had just enough brooding hero and angsty-is she really going to do that knowing it may blow up in her face- that I thoroughly enjoyed it 🙂

Quinn and Ethan were great together. She had such a caring soul, needing to help and heal everyone and everything she came across. So, you know when a photographer from the war zone comes to stay at the ranch, he needs some healing and Quinn was bound to jump on that whether he wanted it or not.

I’m not sure if it was me, or the content of the book, but I cried in several places reading this. The first time Ethan and Quinn made love had me shedding tears because it was so sweet, and when she got him to the art gallery, and when he brought her to some land he bought, equally tear enducing.

This is third and final book in this series, but can easily be read as a stand alone. So, go find this book, or the previous ones, and read it. You’ll be glad you did 🙂

Kenna’s Reverie (Daydreaming, #1) by Claire Granger

Kenna's Reverie (Daydreaming, #1)Kenna’s Reverie by Claire Granger
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received a free copy from the author for an honest review.
I got a chance to meet this author at the Queen of the West Book Bash. She was super friendly and more than willing to tell me all about her book.
Kenna is a single mom of five boys that runs an erotic book blog, who thought that she would always be single. I mean, how many men would date someone with five kids? When Jax walks up to her table at the coffee shop, he has her rethinking her whole dating life.
As soon as I finished this book I had to read the next one right away. I will say that a third book in this series is planned. And as of now, there is not a release date.

TGWB Honest Review3

I’m not sure where to start, as this isn’t a normal read for me. It’s a love story, with no drama. It wasn’t a bad story, the writing was good, and the characters I both liked and disliked at the same time. But I was bored, I wanted some drama—I live for the angst. Though I want Ms. McDonald to know it honestly had nothing to do with her writing, it’s a personal preference.

I felt though as I sleepwalked through the book. Alexis grated my nerves, she acted like she was some petulant child that wasn’t getting her way. She trusted no one, and I get it, I realized why, but as her father said, it had been fifteen years.

I actually liked Declan the best. He was in everyone’s face and saw both sides of the story. I kept waiting for Ryan or Alexis to make a move, and my annoyance built while waiting for them.

I wanted to smack them both so we could get on with life. Their life, my life, Alexis’ parents’ life.

? ? ? AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT ? ? ? R. L. Griffin

Author Photo

R.L. Griffin published her first book in 2004. After that she focused on practicing law. A few years ago she began writing the By A Thread series, which is out now. Her goal is to keep readers on their toes, whether it’s the plot twist or the book itself, her books are outside any box. There is a little bit of grit in most of her books and a ton of cussing. Most books are enjoyed better with a glass of wine, or whiskey, whatever your poison may be.

She lives in Atlanta with her husband, kid and dog. She loves to travel and meeting readers.

I was broken before I met Sebastian Pryor, but he decimated me. I swept the ashes of myself into a pile that I kept safe for thirteen years. Believe me it wasn’t pretty, oh but people thought we were perfect. I hate myself most days. I hate that I feel for him as much as I loathe who I’ve become with him. This story is hard to hear. You know what the worst part is? You’ll see part of you in me. You’ll hate that. You won’t tell anyone.

My story is about cracks. A description or telling of how cracks in a marriage, a life, a personality, a heart and a mind begin and continue for years without anyone knowing. You don’t always see what causes the fissure, but you feel it. Can you remember who you were before all of this started, before your life became a jumble of deceit, longing and regret?

This book isn’t for anyone who needs a happily ever after.

This book isn’t for anyone who needs a fun time out from their life.

This book isn’t for anyone, but me.

This is my story. I won’t apologize for it.

Release Day for Forbid Me by M. Robinson

It was only a matter of time until the truth came out.
I never thought it would come to this…
I tried, God knows I tried to stay away from her but
eventually I crossed that line and broke that trust. I could no longer go back
and I sure as fuck didn’t regret a single moment of it. I knew there would be
hell to pay, I knew the wrath I’d be facing but I would willingly take the
burns and scars just to have the love of my best friend’s sister.
If there is one person I’d willingly go to hell and back for
it was…

“Is that right?” I replied arrogantly, centimeters from her
lips. “I don’t know you? Really? What part don’t I know? Maybe I don’t know the
way you move your hair to cover the side of your face when you’re nervous. Or
maybe I don’t know how you bite your bottom lip when you’re deep into your
strings. Or do you mean that I don’t know the way you freak out if it’s too
dark in a room and you won’t walk in? Or maybe I don’t know that you bite your
fingernails when you think no one is looking. Oh wait, here’s a good one. I
don’t know that you’re trembling in your skin right now. I don’t know that your
heart is beating a million miles a minute, your hands are clammy, and you can’t
swallow. How there are hundreds of thoughts going through your mind, but the
top one being how bad you want me to kiss you. How bad you want me to fuck you.
How bad you want me to claim every fucking inch of your perfect body,” I paused
to let my words sink in, and her flushed complexion gave away that everything I
was saying was true.
“You’re right. I don’t know you. I don’t see your gorgeous
smile in my sleep. I don’t hear that ridiculous giggle you have when I’m away
from you. I don’t see those dark brown eyes every time I close mine.” I leaned
in a little closer so she could feel my breath against her lips. “I don’t
stroke my cock to the memory of your sweet pussy pulsating down my shaft and
the taste of your come dripping down my chin.”

Taking It Off by Claire Kent

Taking It OffTaking It Off by Claire Kent
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a pretty good read. I liked the story, the characters were likable, the sex was hot, but it didn’t knock my socks off.

Elizabeth was so sure knew what she wanted, she had this fantasy life planned and she was sure she would get it. I didn’t like the way her friends and family treated her…like she was stupid for having a dream and that she needed to do what they wanted. Her parents really rubbed me the wrong way.

Matt hid so much from Elizabeth cause he didn’t let anyone in. When he did open up, I found him adorable. He had a vulnerability to him and he was unsure of himself. It was endearing.

All in all, it was a pleasant way to spend the day 🙂

Angel of Redemption by J.A. Little

18713271TGWB Honest Review3Oh my! This was great! Take a broody hot tattooed man with emotional baggage that makes him keep himself from really connecting with anyone and introduce him to a sexy social worker that has a sassy side and brings out the best in him and you’ve got this book.

Dean and Kayla had the best flirty banter going on and they were great together. Dean was so emotional cutoff that he had a hard time not just opening up, but really, just having a normal conversation with people without making them mad and them leaving thinking he’s a total jerk. Dean took everything to heart and it was hard for him to let go and let anyone in. Kayla had a less than perfect upbringing, but she was flirty and funny and she loved Dean so much she’d take whatever he was willing to give.

I loved the rest of the characters…Kayla’s little sister, Claire and her relationship with Logan was great. I’d love to see where they end up. No, I don’t want a book about them. I got their story here. But I would like to know how they end up 10 years down the road LOL

I’ll gladly read anything else J.A. Little writes 🙂

The Goodbye Man (Red Market, #1)The Goodbye Man by A. Giannoccaro
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me say this book is unlike any other book I have ever read. I will say this one is not for the faint of heart, and definitely not for everyone. The subject matter is some of the most disturbing topics, so beware before you start.
I read this book in one sitting; I just could not put it down. It will mess with your head and stay with you for days after you’ve finished. I can’t say too much without giving the whole book away, but I will say I can’t wait to read the next one.

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the second book in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.

MLeighton-ToughEnough-Cover250pxHe’s a fighter who never loses, but is he tough enough to win her heart?

There was a time when I had everything–a wonderful family, a bright future. Love. But all that was taken away in a single night, torn from me like flesh from bone. Since then, I’ve hidden away in my second-choice job as a makeup artist. But I prefer it that way, actually. I’m comfortable in the shadows, where no one can see my scars.

Kiefer Rogan literally took my breath away the moment I met him. MMA champion-turned-actor, notorious playboy, charming to a fault—he’s everything I vowed to avoid.

But he just wouldn’t stop until I opened up and let him in. Maybe I should’ve tried harder to resist him. Maybe I shouldn’t have fallen in love with him. Because I, of all people, know that everyone has secrets. Scars. And that they’re usually ugly and painful and destructive to the people we love most.

I just never guessed that they could be deadly, too.

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes another dark, sexy story…

Is she brave enough to give her heart to a man she only thought she knew?

He was the most charismatic man I’d ever met. Strong, tough, brave. Bold as hell. Something told me Tag Barton could have anything—anyone—he wanted…and he wanted me. It didn’t matter that he was wrong for me in practically every way possible. It didn’t matter that my father would hate it.

I couldn’t resist him. Even if I’d known who he really was and what he was really capable of.

When he suggested we pretend to be engaged, I thought he was the answer to all my problems. He wasn’t. And, in his wake, he left nothing but scorched earth and me, just another casualty of my father’s war.

Can I believe him now when he tells me he loves me? Or is he nothing more than a beautiful, breathtaking lie?
